Production Engineering

Our goal is to develop products using new, world-leading technology. To that end, we develop new technologies and methods that relate to production engineering , build factories, develop and maintain production facilities, and enable efficient production of high quality products. We also provide support in areas relating to materials, methods, and facilities for our overseas offices with a goal of making further improvements in global marketing, development, and production structure.

Design Development

We gather information on needs of our customers from Japan and overseas as well as design trends from the global market. We also provide creative ideas and concept designs for new products. Creating attractive designs is an important aspect of our company so we can be the global leader of lamp design trends.

Design

Automobile lamps provide protection and ensure safety. They're also expected to have quality designs as they make up the face of the vehicle. We use 3D data to reflect designs and create new products by utilizing knowledge from various fields, such as optics, structure, and circuits. It's a job that brings a great sense of satisfaction.

Intellectual property

We protect our inventions and products using intellectual property rights (patent, trademark, copyright, expertise, and others) and manage them so they can be utilized in the optimal way. We have an important responsibility of improving our competitive strength and promoting innovation by using my legal expertise and strategic insights.

Product Performance Confirmation

We work to support the main performance of our lamps by being involved in every step of the production process, from product development all the way to mass production. Our goal is to improve design qualities and achieve zero market failures by evaluating and testing developed products, conducting simulations, carrying out performance audits, and following up and providing support on areas relating to their performances.

Quality assurance

We work to protect our customer's trust with our high-quality products and prevent problems from occurring. We do this by testing prototypes using high-quality standards from their development stage and by carrying out pre-shipment inspections. If problems were to occur, we collaborate with various departments to investigate the cause and make multiple adjustments to prevent their reoccurrence.

Sales

We endeavor to have the latest understanding of domestic and international market trends, and we use information gathered on our customer's automobile development concepts, development schedules, and technology needs to lead sales activities that involve our entire company. We also give feedback to technology department and production department, develop sales strategies, and make product planning to expand our market share.

Procurement

We select our suppliers for raw materials and parts that are necessary to manufacture our products, and we negotiate prices, manage quality, and manage deadlines. What we do makes a great impact on our company's competitive strength and profitability, and we have an important responsibility of managing an efficient supply chain.

Production control

With goals of improving productivity and ensuring its stability, we draft production plans, gather information and analyze customer behaviors, research, maintain, and improve production management system, and plan capital investments. Efficient management of production processes and production lines is extremely important in providing our customers with stable, high-quality products.

Cost administration

We link material cost, labor cost, and subcontract cost to “products,” “customers,” and “topics” to make calculations and improvements. We also decide sales prices of our products and make decisions on corporate plans based on cost management. We have an important responsibility of optimizing profitability for the entire KOITO Group.

Support department

We manage and utilize corporate resources, such as “people,” “objects,” “money,” and “information,” to support corporate infrastructure, reduce cost, and improve productivity. What we do does not make a direct impact on profits, but it's a behind-the-scenes work that provides support for our company so that each department can focus on their task.
