Using technology to create a safe society for everyone.
- Q.Why did you choose KOITO Manufacturing?
- I attended KOITO’s roundtable talk when I was doing a job search. There, I was able to talk to KOITO’s female senior employees. I could see how lively they were, and I could feel how they have been able to succeed while balancing work and personal life. Seeing them and talking to them took away my worries and made me want to work for KOITO.
Even after I joined KOITO, I saw people working with flexibility by utilizing remote work plans and flextime system. I also saw a senior male colleague acquiring paternity leave, and I once again realized that this company really helps its employees to attain their work-life balance.
- Q.Tell us what kind of work you do.
- I’m involved in advance development of electronic products and technology that relate to lamp systems. I manage software development for next-generation ADB headlamp system, and I help develop control systems to minimize shaded area. ADB uses a camera to detect preceding or oncoming vehicle, and it dims individuals lights to minimize glare from the surroundings while illuminating important objects like pedestrians. It’s a crucial technology that prevents car accidents. Every day that I work in the developing department, I work with a goal of using ADB lights to create a safe society for everyone. We work with members in our own team and we also collaborate with other departments to develop software that utilizes image processing technology to create a lamp system that’s both high-functioning and light-weight. I’m also engaged in utilizing model base development to increase the quality of our software.
- Q.Can you share a memorable experience?
- On the fourth year after joining KOITO, I was assigned to carry out specification examination as well as coding and testing on my own for the first time. I struggled a lot because none of the functions worked the way I had hoped. So I received help from senior colleagues, and I was able to inspect the cause, correct them, repeatedly confirm its actual function, and was finally able to complete my assignment. Through this process, I learned so much and acquired new skills. When everything was finished, I felt a tremendous sense of accomplishment.
Q.What kind of company is KOITO to you?
It’s a company where I can feel my own growth in an environment where I’m surrounded by senior colleagues that I respect. It’s also a company where it’s easy to balance work and personal life, so I can work with peace of mind.
